Reelspan sets no daily cap per connected account of its own: on a paid plan you can post as often as your rate limit allows. The networks do set caps on posts made through their APIs, and when one is reached, that network's result fails with a specific error_code while the other networks in the request carry on.
This page lists the limits Reelspan recognises and reports, and, where a network publishes a number, that number with a link to its documentation. Networks change these limits; their pages are the source of truth.
For Instagram and Threads, which tell apps how much of the day's quota an account has used, GET /v1/publishing-limits shows what is left before you post.
Summary
| Network | Limit | error_code when reached |
What Reelspan does |
|---|---|---|---|
| TikTok | A daily post cap per account (number not published) | tiktok_spam_risk_too_many_posts |
Fails that network. Try again the next day. |
| TikTok | A daily cap on how many different accounts can post through one app | tiktok_reached_active_user_cap |
Fails that network. |
| TikTok | 6 requests a minute per account | tiktok_rate_limit_exceeded |
Retries automatically. |
| YouTube | Daily upload quota | youtube_quotaExceeded, youtube_uploadLimitExceeded |
Fails that network; the message says to try tomorrow. |
| Instagram, Facebook | Graph API rate limits; Instagram also caps API-published posts per 24 hours | meta_rate_limited |
Retries automatically. |
| Threads | 250 posts and 1,000 replies per 24 hours | threads_error |
Retries Threads' rate-limit answers automatically; otherwise fails that network. |
| Bluesky | A daily video limit per account | bluesky_video_limit |
Fails that network. Try again the next day. |
| X | X's rate limits | x_rate_limited |
Retries automatically. |
| Reddit's posting rate limit | reddit_error |
Retries automatically. |
"Retries automatically" means Reelspan tries again up to four attempts in all, with pauses of 15, 30 and 60 seconds, before reporting the failure. A limit that lasts a day can outlast those retries; send the post again later with Retry, which doesn't upload the media again.
TikTok
TikTok's Content Posting API reference documents three limits that Reelspan maps to error codes:
- Daily posts per account. TikTok answers
spam_risk_too_many_postswhen "the daily post cap from the API is reached for the current user". TikTok doesn't publish the number. Reelspan reports it astiktok_spam_risk_too_many_posts. - Active publishing users per app.
reached_active_user_capmeans the app (Reelspan's) has reached TikTok's daily quota of accounts that publish through it. Reelspan reports it astiktok_reached_active_user_cap. It is not about your account; try again later. - Requests per minute. Each account's token is limited to 6 requests a minute. Reelspan retries
tiktok_rate_limit_exceededon its own.
Separately, TikTok limits video length per account; Reelspan checks it before posting (tiktok_duration_too_long).
YouTube
YouTube's quota documentation says videos.insert has its own quota bucket with a default daily limit of 100 calls per API project. The quota belongs to the app making the uploads, not to your channel. YouTube may also refuse uploads from a channel that has uploaded too much in a day.
Either way, Reelspan reports YouTube's reason in the code: youtube_quotaExceeded or youtube_uploadLimitExceeded, with a message to try again tomorrow. These are not retried automatically.
Instagram's content publishing documentation limits each account to 100 API-published posts within a moving 24-hour period (the same page also mentions 50 in its carousel section). Meta's rate-limit answers come back as meta_rate_limited and are retried automatically. To see how many posts an account has left, ask Publishing limits: it reads Instagram's own count for the account (Instagram reports a quota of 50, and a carousel counts as one post).
Threads
The Threads API overview limits each profile to 250 API-published posts and 1,000 replies within a moving 24-hour period. A first_comment on Threads is posted as a reply. Reelspan retries Threads' rate-limit answers; other refusals fail with threads_error. Publishing limits shows how many posts and replies the account has left.
Bluesky
Bluesky limits how much video an account can upload per day. When Bluesky's video service says the limit is reached, Reelspan fails Bluesky with bluesky_video_limit ("Bluesky's daily video limit for this account is used up… Retry tomorrow."). Text and photo posts are not affected.
X
X's rate-limit answers (HTTP 429) are reported as x_rate_limited and retried automatically. X also bills Reelspan per post, much more for posts with links, which is why links are removed unless you send x_keep_links=true; see Character limits.
What isn't capped
- Reelspan has no per-account or per-profile daily cap of its own.
- Paid plans have no monthly upload limit; the Free plan has 15 uploads a month. See Plans and limits.
- Your workspace's request rate is limited per plan; see Rate limits.
